The recent document published by the VA Secretary, Honorable Denis Richard McDonough entitled, “Fiscal Years 2022-2028 Strategic Plan,” frames the VA’s mission around four strategies of Access, Advocacy, Outcomes and Excellence.  The robust document builds upon the vision initiated by President Abraham Lincoln to care for those, “who have borne the battle,” and most recently by President Joe Biden of our, “most sacred obligation” to care for Veterans and their families.

The 2022 VA Healthcare Summit, in partnership with the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (“IDGA”), will occur on July 19-20, 2022 in Washington, DC (Hilton Mark Center, Alexandria VA).  The two-day conference will focus on Supply Chain/Electronic Healthcare Modernization and the Veteran Experience.  The annual gathering includes presentations from VA and industry leaders addressing the innovative efforts of America’s largest healthcare system with its 171 medical centers and 1,200 primary and specialty clinics.

Access.  Advocacy.  Outcomes.  Excellence.  These four VA strategies will guide the VA and industry partners for the next six years in improving Veteran/family well-being.   “Presentations and industry breakout sessions will highlight new technologies and practices that are improving access to care,” noted Conference Producer, Justin Ederheimer of IDGA.  “The presentations on the Veteran Experience will highlight advocacy for Veterans at every stage of their transition to civilian life.  A major topic throughout the Summit will be on care outcomes.  Presentations on the technical- as well as clinical-sides of care will emphasize the VA’s objective for excellence,” Ederheimer concluded.

This year’s Summit will be compelling, with key decision makers and top-performing industry partners meeting for two days of education, inspiration and engagement.

Regarding the Secretary’s, “Strategic Plan,” the Honorable McDonough stated, “This strategic plan will help us execute our mission of serving Veterans, their families, care givers and survivors as they have served us. We will stop at nothing to meet our goals and in doing so, we will keep our promise to all those we serve.”

The VA Healthcare Summit July 19-20, 2022 in Washington, DC is open to VA leadership and to healthcare solution and services firms.
