Toni M.L. Hightower served in the United States Army from 1989-2010.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Individual Studies: Fitness and Martial Arts Specialist from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Arts in Security Management from Webster University. Certifications Include:

Army assignments include Platoon Leader for the 188th MP CO, Camp Walker, Korea from 2000-2001; Executive Officer for C/787th MP BN, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, from 2001-2002; Company Commander for HHD/787th MP BN, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, from 2002-2003; Base Defense OIC for 34th ASG, Yongsan, Korea, from 2003-2004; Company Commander for the 57th MP CO, Camp Carroll, Korea, from 2004-2005; BOLC II Platoon Mentor and Executive Officer for B 1-22 FA BN, Fort Sill, OK, from 2005-2007;  Task Force War Horse Commander and Garrison Commander of Camp Eggers and New Kabul Compound (Kabul, Afghanistan) from June 2008 to September 2009. From October 2009 to December 2010 MAJ Hightower taught Military Tactics at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR.

Operational Assignments include: Operation Promote Liberty (Panama), Joint Task Force Guantanamo (Cuba), Joint Task Force Bravo (Honduras), Operation, Desert Shield / Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6), Joint Service Achievement Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (4), Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal,  National Defense Service Medal (2), Southwest Asia Bronze Star (1), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NATO Medal, Military Outstanding Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon,  Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Saudi Arabian Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait, Kuwait Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait, and Parachutist Badge.

In December of 2010 Toni Hightower came to the Veteran’s Affairs as the Chief of Police, completing the Basic Police Officers Course as Designated Honor Graduate.

Retired as Chief of Police in June of 2016 to take a job with the Veterans Experience Office in Dallas, Texas.

VA Training Includes: Patient Centered Care Retreat Facilitator, Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior Trainer, Green Belt in Lean Healthcare, VA Aspiring Leaders Program Graduate.

Toni Hightower is married to Missy Lingerfelt of Savannah, Georgia.
