Director of Communications, Outreach, and Advocacy Mary

Lindsay is a dedicated advocate for veterans, military families, and the communities that support them. As a proud military spouse whose partner has served on active duty in the Navy for over 22 years, she brings a unique understanding of the challenges and strengths of military life. A native Marylander, Lindsay combines her personal experience with a passion for creating meaningful change.

Throughout her journey as a military spouse, the Navy has taken Lindsay's family across the country, with assignments in Annapolis, Rhode Island, Hawaii, San Diego, Maine, and now Maryland. Along the way, she has embraced opportunities to organize large-scale events and service projects, fostering community resilience and strengthening connections among military families.

Lindsay earned a degree in elementary education and began her career as an elementary school teacher. In 2024, she graduated from the Military Spouse Leadership Cohort, earning a leadership certificate from Harvard University. She has returned to the classroom, this time as a student at the University of Maryland Global Campus, where she is pursuing a master's degree in strategic communications.

Driven by her commitment to mental health advocacy, Lindsay joined the Cohen Veterans Network, where she worked to connect military-connected individuals and families with accessible, high-quality mental health services. Her work has been guided by a deep belief in breaking down barriers to care—a principle shaped by her personal and professional experiences.

Lindsay also supported the Department of Veterans Affairs by helping to connect veterans with innovative healthcare solutions. Her ability to bridge government programs with community needs has earned her a reputation as a collaborative and impactful leader.

Now, as the Director of Communications, Outreach, and Advocacy for Maryland's Department of Veteran and Military Families, Lindsay focuses on amplifying the voices of veterans and military families, building partnerships, and driving programs that improve lives. Her work is dedicated to making Maryland the best state for veterans and military families.

With a career built on leadership, advocacy, and a deep connection to the military community, Lindsay remains steadfast in her commitment to making a difference for those who serve and their loved ones.
