Deputy Director, Office of Healthcare Technology Management Veterans Health Administration

Michelle Baquie is the Deputy Director for the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) Office of Healthcare Technology Management (HTM). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and a Master's in Business Administration from Auburn University.  Michelle holds her Certification in Clinical Engineering (CCE). She joined the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2004 as a Technical Career Field (TCF) Biomedical Engineer trainee at the VA Northern California Healthcare System.  In 2009 she transferred into the Office of HTM as a Biomedical Engineer.  In this role she had the responsibility for leading numerous national programs and initiatives including the Biomedical Engineering Technical Career Field (TCF) program and HTM Professional Development Program where she focused on ensuring VHA's Biomedical Engineering professionals had the knowledge and training needed to support and secure healthcare technology.  Michelle became Deputy Director in August 2023 and supports all of VHA's HTM initiatives and programs in this position.

Michelle is married to Chief Master Sergeant James Baquie and is proud to be an Air Force spouse for the past 23 years.  They currently reside in Jackson, MS with their two children.
