Dr. Fazi Sabi joined the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group in 2006 and has held several leadership roles within the organization, including physician site leader, assistant physician in chief and associate medical director. As an associate medical director, Dr. Sabi has had executive oversight over several operational departments, including hospital operations, the virtual home care program, case management, perioperative services, utilization management and mental health and psychiatry.
Dr. Sabi earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine. She journeyed west for her internship and residency at the Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. Upon completion of her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she once again came home to the east coast and served as an active-duty physician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She had the honor and privilege to join her colleagues on the USNS Comfort, serving on the hospital ship supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Persian Gulf in 2003.
She is currently the Associate Medical Director for External Affairs and Chief Network Officer. In this role, Dr. Sabi provides strategic and programmatic leadership, guiding the development, implementation, and evaluation of accountable strategic functions and programs across MAPMG. This role partners with senior leaders, clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams to advance organizational strategies, foster innovation, and drive improvements in clinical outcomes and patient experience. The Associate Medical Director is a key architect of programmatic initiatives, ensuring alignment with MAPMG's mission, regulatory requirements, and long-term goals.
