Caroline Zhang, CEO and Co-Founder of Knowtex, brings 15+ years of experience across AI, healthcare innovation, and public policy. Prior to Knowtex, she worked firsthand in biomedical cancer research at the Salk Institute of Biological Studies, software technology investment banking at Morgan Stanley, AI safety research and government affairs at Schmidt Futures, and policy initiatives in the U.S. Senate. Caroline obtained a M.S. in Computer Science with concentration in AI, along with a B.A. in Economics and minor in International Relations from Stanford University. She is a UCSF Rosenman Innovator, co-authored an ASCO 2025 Journal of Clinical Oncology publication on the impact of integrated AI scribes, and holds a provisional patent for a machine-learning-based clinical workflow platform.
Her research was advised by Professor Mykel Kochenderfer, co-director of the Stanford Center for AI Safety and focused on AI decision-making under uncertainty in high-stakes applications like healthcare to incorporate evaluation methods for safety, performance, and reinforcement learning for continuous improvement. She applies AI safety expertise, clinical insight, and financial rigor to bridge breakthrough technology innovation for real-world healthcare delivery challenges at scale.
