The additive manufacturing industry is at the forefront of revolutionizing modern manufacturing processes for aerospace and defense sectors. In fact, the additive manufacturing industry is expected to surpass a staggering value of $76.16 billion by 2030.
In order to explore more about the cutting-edge realm of additive manufacturing, IDGA is partnering with ATSM International for the 3rd annual Advanced Manufacturing for Defense Summit. On June 11-12 at the Westin Hotel in Pasadena, California, industry leaders, experts and innovators will participate in collaborative discussions against the backdrop of recent investments by industry, as well as program initiatives funded by the current administration, adding a layer of timeliness and relevance to the discourse.
One of the perks of this year’s event is for the first time Boeing will host a group of event attendees to visit Boeing’s Engagement Center in El Segundo, California. This opportunity, which is only available to U.S. citizens, will provide visitors a tour of the facility, a collaborative workshop, and presentations from Boeing thought leaders in advanced manufacturing.
Boeing is not only hosting attendees at their facility, but also plans to have Nicholas Mule, Director of the Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center, present at the conference. Before his presentation, IDGA spoke with Nicholas about some of the of the challenges in scaling additive manufacturing capabilities, what he is looking forward to at this year’s event, and more.
