Military Vehicles Exhibition & Conference - Educational Program Announced
NEW YORK, NY – May 7, 2010 – The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) yesterday unveiled the program agenda and speaker roster for its Military Vehicles Conference taking place August 10-13, 2010 at the Cobo Convention Center in Detroit, MI. The conference is slated to run alongside the largest stand-alone military ground vehicles exhibition in the United States.

The much-awaited preliminary program agenda was posted on the event’s website (http://www.MilitaryVehiclesExpo.com) yesterday afternoon. "The conference focuses on current and future initiatives to meet evolving requirements for the LAV, Stryker, M-ATV, MRAP, AAV, Abrams, Bradley and HMMWV" explained Shamara Ray, Program Director at IDGA. "It will delve into key military vehicle life-cycle management issues, provide essential program updates and explore crucial lessons learned from OIF and OEF for the various platforms."

Specific topics to be discussed at the conference include:

  • Acquisition strategies to maintain a combat ready force in Afghanistan
  • Latest updates on new requirements in vehicle platforms and modernization plans
  • Emerging power and energy technologies for military ground vehicles
  • Current challenges on M-ATV and acquisition strategy
  • Ensuring reliable and responsive vehicle overhaul at Depots
  • Military and industry partnerships in ground combat vehicle R&D
  • Advancements in military vehicle training and simulation technology
  • Challenges in developing lightweight materials with increased survivability and optimal armor protection
  • Latest updates on Army and Marine Corps military vehicle modernization strategy
