IDGA: What are the US Army requirements for cognitive radios?
JRR: The Army is determining which technologies will assist us in taking full advantage of the finite spectrum available. As we all know, we are selling off more spectrum to commercial industry. The reduction in available spectrum translates into the requirement to make more efficient use of the remaining spectrum. Cognitive radios are one of the means we can efficiently use spectrum.
