U.S. Pledges More Aid to Rebel Forces in Syria

The U.S. is to supply Syrian rebel fighters with food and medical supplies, Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Thursday.
Supplies will be dispatched through the rebels’ military headquarters, but there will be no deal as yet on the heavy weaponry they want.
Mr. Kerry said: "The stakes are really high, and we can’t risk letting this country — in the heart of the Middle East — be destroyed by vicious autocrats or hijacked by the extremists."
