Obama Urges Deal to Avert ‘Meat Cleaver’ Sequester

With the sequester less than two weeks away, President Obama on Tuesday attacked Congressional Republicans for failing to compromise as he once again urged lawmakers to act to avoid automatic defense and domestic spending cuts. Surrounding himself with emergency first responders for a White House press conference, Mr. Obama said the "meat cleaver approach" of the automatic $85 billion cuts would lead to a compromised military, a reduced air traffic control system and furloughs of FBI agents....
