Illegal Immigrants Released Before Budget Cuts Kick in

Illegal immigrants held in detention centers across the U.S. are being released to save money ahead of the looming mandatory budget cuts.
Gillian Christensen, spokeswoman for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement service, said on Tuesday that immigrants have been "placed on an appropriate, more cost-effective form of supervised release."
She did not specify how many people were being released but she did add that the immigrants would still face deportation proceedings.
