He details optimizing the protection, payload, and price. He relates these concepts to survivability and weight and analyzes the trade-offs of each. Due to insurgents adaptions in theater with IEDs and RPGs he mentions advancements in vehicle technology to combat the threats and how there is an ongoing race to see which side can adapt quicker.
