General James Mattis on Network Enabled Operations and Hybrid Warfare

General James Mattis, USMC the current Commander of USJFCOM who is poised to be the next leader of USCENTCOM and the efforts in both OIF and OEF discusses network enabled operations and hybrid warfare. He discusses the need for "commanders intent" on the battlefield and how an over reliance on technology can acutally hinder mission accomplishment. He stresses a need for young leaders to be given the autonomy to make decisions on the battlefield and for a need to have a second course of action in an enviorment with degraded or inoperable high technology communication networks.
