Kevin Taylor is the Fire Chief of the Montecito Fire Department. Chief Taylor began his career in 1987 with Cal Fire in San Luis Obispo County and was hired by the Paso Robles Fire Department in 1991. He progressed through the ranks in Paso Robles, promoting to Battalion Chief in 2003. Chief Taylor joined the Montecito Fire Department in 2015 in the role of Division Chief – Operations. He was promoted by the Board of Directors to Fire Chief in July 2019. Chief Taylor has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Administration and a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management. He is a founding member of the Santa Barbara County Type 3 Incident Management Team where he served as one of the teams Incident Commanders.
