Amanda Rumsey currently serves as the Data Manager for the Wildland Fire Management Research, Development, and Application (WFM RD&A) program, which is responsible for developing science-based decision support tools for the wildland fire community. Currently, the WFM RD&A team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Wildland Fire Decision Support System (WFDSS), the Interagency Fuel Treatment Decision Support System (IFTDSS), and the Fire Modeling Services Framework (FMSF). These decision support tools incorporate the latest authoritative wildland fire research and data to streamline incident support and fuel treatment planning. The WFM RD&A Data Management Team is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and managing an extensive collection of spatial datasets for inclusion in the WFDSS and IFTDSS applications.

Amanda has over ten years of geospatial data management experience within the private and public sectors. Prior to her role with WFM RD&A, she served as a geographer for the U.S. Census Bureau, a chief technologist for MacDonald, Detwiler and Associates (MDA), and a geospatial consultant for the NASA DEVELOP program. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Geography from Boston University.
