Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Orders

Staff Officer Armoured Engineering, Army Headquarters Australian Defence Force

Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Orders is the Staff Officer Armoured Engineering at Army Headquarters, a position he has held since January 2017. Lieutenant Colonel Orders joined the Army in 2001 and graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon into the Corps of the Royal Australian Engineers. He has served in command and staff roles in construction, combat engineering and training units. In 2016 he undertook study to specialise in capability development for major Defence projects and has since worked in this area. Lieutenant Colonel Orders has served on operations as a Troop Leader in domestic security roles (2006) and in Timor Leste (2007) and as a construction lead within a Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan (2010). Lieutenant Colonel Orders was awarded an Australian Defence Force Gold Commendation for his work in Afghanistan. Lieutenant Colonel Orders holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, a Masters in Business and a Masters in Capability Development, all from the University of New South Wales. Lieutenant Colonel Orders is married to Lauren and they have three children.
