Robert Costello

Bob Costello serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where he leads efforts to develop, deploy, secure, and support technology solutions for the agency. With extensive experience in federal technology leadership, Bob has driven modernization initiatives and advanced cybersecurity strategies across multiple government organizations. 

Costello brings over 18 years of experience at the Department of Homeland Security, including senior executive roles at Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He led major modernization initiatives, including upgrading DHS’s largest data network, implementing zero trust architecture, and advancing cloud and mobility platforms. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Fordham University and maintains a certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
