EXECUTIVE BIOGRAPHY:
Eric Rhodes has built a career at the intersection of security, leadership, and organizational strategy—building high-performing teams, managing complex crises, and protecting people, brands, and institutions in demanding environments. His experience spans professional sports, entrepreneurship, and law enforcement, giving him a unique perspective on security as both an operational responsibility and a business priority.
EXECUTIVE SECURITY LEADERSHIP:
Eric Rhodes is a security executive with more than 35 years of experience protecting people, brands, and live events at the highest levels of professional sports. As Senior Vice President of Security at Monumental Sports & Entertainment in Washington, DC, he serves as principal security advisor to executive leadership, setting the strategy for safety, risk, and crisis response across the organization's venues and teams while leading a security organization of more than 350 professionals. Before joining Monumental, Eric was Director of Security for the National Basketball Players Association in New York, where he safeguarded NBA players and led security for the sport's biggest stages, including the NBA Finals, NBA Draft, NBA AllStar Game, and international Global Games across six countries. In both roles, he built strong partnerships with law enforcement leaders at the local, state, federal, and international levels while earning a reputation for calm, people-first leadership.
ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP:
Eric's leadership is grounded in his outside-the-box entrepreneurial mindset. For 16 years, he was the Founding Managing Partner of TIF Security, building the firm from the ground up into a full-service security company trusted by more than 50 corporate clients and federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Running his own firm taught him to see security as a business asset, one that protects people and reputations while managing cost and risk. He brings that perspective to every leadership table he sits at.
LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE:
The foundation of Eric's career is a decade of service in law enforcement. He began as a police officer with the Arlington Police Department and went on to serve as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Those years shaped the investigative discipline, sound judgment under pressure, and deep respect for those who serve that continue to define his work today.
EDUCATION & EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT:
Eric holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and has completed executive education in organizational leadership at Harvard Business School. He will complete his MBA at Western Governors University in 2026. Eric also serves as an Honorary Commander with the U.S. Air Force's 11th Wing, supporting the 11th Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, and serves on the board of the American Board of First Responder Behavioral Healthcare (FRBH), supporting its work to address the behavioral health and well-being of public safety professionals.
