Alma Cole

Mr. Alma R. Cole Chief Information Security Officer for the largest Law Enforcement agency in the country, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where he was responsible for cybersecurity strategy, policy, compliance, and operations. Mr. Cole has years of experience as the Director of the DHS Security Operations Center where he directly led the defense of the Department in the face persistent and targeted cyber attacks. He has been recognized by the 1105 Government Information Group, receiving the Rising Star Award for his efforts to implement a program to provide greater insight into ongoing cyber threats through cross agency sharing of cyber attack information. Additional experience includes work as an analyst at the Government Accountability Office, and the National Information Assurance Training and Education Center. He holds a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Assurance from Idaho State University, a Bachelors of Science in Business Information Systems with an emphasis in E-Commerce from Utah State University.
