Jessica Haas is a National Program Director for the USDA Forest Service’s Fire and Aviation Management. Overseeing wildfire technologies, information management and advanced capabilities, her team focuses on bringing technical solutions to the operational front of wildfire management.

Her Forest Service and wildfire career spans over 18 years, with a primary focus on spatial modeling of natural hazards and wildfire risk assessments. She is particularly passionate about bringing these tools to the field and ensuring they are useful for our fire fighters, fuels managers and land managers. Her work has been used nationally to support hazard mitigation and decision-making by major land managers and various state forestry departments across the country. Her research is published in both peer-reviewed scientific journals and news media sources from the International Journal of Wildland Fire to the Wall Street Journal to the Boston Globe. Most recently, she was the technical lead for Forest Service FAM on the national wildfire technology roadmap.
