Benjamin Berman currently serves as Vice President of Wildfire Systems Operations at EMBERPOINT™, where he leads operator engagement and builds strategic collaborations with fire agencies, utilities, and community partners.
Berman brings more than 26 years of aviation and emergency response leadership across federal, state, and local agencies. He most recently served as Chief of Air Operations for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, overseeing a fleet of aerial assets and coordinating complex wildfire suppression efforts. Prior to that, he was the Rotary Wing Program Manager & Chief Pilot for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), where he led the transition to the S-70i™ FIREHAWK® platform and authored statewide aviation policy, procedures, and standards for all California aerial resources.
Earlier in his career, Berman spent over two decades with the United States Coast Guard, directing incident response operations during major disasters at the federal, state, and local levels. His extensive background in aerial firefighting, interagency coordination, and operational training positions him to guide EMBERPOINT™ operator training and deployment programs, ensuring that the company's technology meets the real-world needs of operators.
