Bjorn Lindero

Director Products US, Training & Simulation Saab

Bjorn Lindero has spent more than 30 years at Saab, including 23 years in Training and Simulation. A native of Sweden, he joined Saab directly after graduating from university.

In his early career, Bjorn worked primarily on fire-control systems for air-defense missiles and mission-planning software for cruise missiles. Over the past decade, he has served as Director of Saab’s Live Training portfolio, GAMER, leading its evolution into a modular, flexible system-of-systems aligned with the NATO UCATT MOSA architecture. Today, GAMER is the world’s leading high-fidelity force-on-force training solution, deployed in over 35 countries and accounting for more than 75% of the European live simulation market.

In the early 2020s, the United States Marine Corps made a major transition away from legacy MILES systems—limited in their ability to accurately simulate modern combat—and adopted the NATO UCATT state-of-the-art training solution. Saab now works closely with the USMC to deliver capability expansion packs as operational requirements evolve, with the drone training package being a recent example.

Bjorn has recently shifted his focus to the U.S. market and, as an expatriate, has relocated to sunny Florida for a two-year assignment.
