Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Godwin

Product Manager, Fire Support Command Control, PEO C3T US Army

Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Godwin graduated from Clemson University Air Force ROTC and was commissioned as a United States Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Officer in 2002. His first duty assignment was with the 49th Maintenance Group, 49th Fighter Wing Holloman AFB, NM where he served as the Aerospace Ground Equipment Flight Commander for the F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter. LTC Godwin then served as the Fabrication Flight Commander, Maintenance Operations Flight Commander, and finally as the Assistant Officer in Charge of the 8th Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU). As the Assistant OIC with the 8th AMU, LTC Godwin deployed to Kunsan AB, Korea with a squadron of F-117As. Following his assignment with the 49th Fighter Wing, LTC Godwin transferred to the 20th Fighter Wing Shaw AFB, SC where he served as the Maintenance Flight Commander before conducting an inter-service transfer to the Army under the Blue-to-Green program as a Field Artillery Officer.

After completing the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, LTC Godwin served as a Military Transition Team (MiTT) Fires and Effects trainer for 2nd Battalion, 4th Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division in Baghdad, Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following the MiTT assignment, LTC Godwin became the Commander of Bravo Battery, 1-76FA, 4th IBCT, 3rd Infantry Division where he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Following command, LTC Godwin became the assistant brigade fire support officer and LNO to United States Division – Center.

Following deployment, LTC Godwin attended the Army Acquisition Basic Course as well as the Army Acquisition Intermediate Program Manager and Contracting Courses. While attending Command and General Staff College, LTC Godwin earned a Masters in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University. LTC Godwin also served as a Training with Industry fellow with Amazon in Seattle, Washington where he served as a producer and test director within Amazon Games Studios. LTC Godwin is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and is certified in Program Management and Contracting.

LTC Godwin’s acquisition assignments include, Contracting Specialist, Low Level Radiological Waste and Executive Officer at Army Contracting Command - Rock Island; 900th Contracting Battalion Operations Officer at Fort Bragg, NC; Operations Officer Regional Contracting Center – Operation Inherent Resolve for Iraq, Jordan, and Kuwait; Assistant Product Manager for Special Operation Forces Training Systems and Executive Officer at Program Executive Officer for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation in Orlando, Florida; and the Services Team Lead for the Army’s Senior Services Manager within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Procurement).

LTC Godwin currently serves as the Product Manager, Fire Support Command and Control within PM Mission Command, PEO C3T. In this role, LTC Godwin provides Army, joint and coalition commanders with the capability to plan, execute and deliver both lethal and non-lethal fires and effects. FSC2 systems comprise the entire sensor-to-shooter digital kill chain, from the dismounted forward observer through theater and Combatant Command planning cells. These systems integrate Army, joint and coalition targeting capabilities and fuse that information with the ballistic calculations required to deliver precision munitions.

LTC Godwin’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak Leaf cluster, the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Army Staff Identification Badge, the USAF Aircraft Maintenance Badge, and the Order of Saint Barbara. LTC Godwin was the recipient of the 2016 Secretary of the Army Award for Excellence in Contracting – Contingency Contracting.

LTC Godwin is married to the former Miss Jennifer Wheeler and they have two children, Tryston and Gabriella Godwin.
