Lieutenant Colonel DANIAS Nikolaos

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) DANIAS Nikolaos was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, on March 23rd, 1979. He entered the Hellenic Army Military Academy (Evelpidon) in 1996, graduated in 2000, first among his classmates and was commissioned as an Artillery 2nd Lieutenant (2LT).

As a junior Officer, he served in Field Artillery units, performing duties according to his rank in Alexandroupolis (138 FA BN) (2002 - 2004), Lagkadas Thessaloniki (194 MLRS BN) (2004 - 2009), Kos Island (148 FA BN, NG) (2009 - 2011) and Cyprus (2012 - 2014). He also served as a Staff Officer in KFOR (2010) and as Aide-de-Camp to the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff (HAGS) (2011 - 2012).

As a senior Officer, he Commanded the 188 Target Acquisition Battery (188 TAB) in Didymoteicho between 2014 - 2016 and the 156 Field Artillery Battalion (156 FA BN) with SP PzH 2000GR howitzers, in Alexandroupolis between 2021 - 2023. He also served as Chief Instructor in Hellenic Army Artillery School (2016 - 2019), Director G4 in Artillery Command of D΄ Army Corps in Xanthi (2020 - 2021) and Section Chief in Hellenic Army General Inspectorate (2023 - 2024). The current period he is the Deputy National Liaison Representa-tive (D/NLR) in NATO ACT in Norfolk, VA, USA.

He has successfully completed all the mandatory Artillery courses, the Hellenic Army Command and General Staff College (2017 - 2018), and the Hellenic Supreme Joint War College (2019 - 2020). He also graduates with honors from US Field Artillery Officers Basic Course (FAOBC) 6-2004.

He holds Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Human Resource Management (2009) from the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki and in International Relations and Security (MA) (2022) from the same university.

He has been awarded all decorations, commendations and medals provided for his rank. He speaks English and German languages.
