Dave Richards

David Richards is the Senior Director, Precisions Combat Systems at Elbit America. He leads a diverse portfolio of programs that include precision guidance seeker payloads, mortar weapon systems, fire control systems, howitzer and ammunition systems, and other direct and indirect attack capabilities. He has 20 years of experience in the development of a diverse set of defense systems from individual soldier system electro-optics to full scale weapons systems. For the past 10 years, his career has focused on the development and fielding of precision targeting and weapon development programs for the US armed forces including Laster Target Locator Module (LTLM), Joint Effects Targeting System (JETS), Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS), Long Range Precision Guidance Kit (LR-PGK), Laser Joint Direct Attack Munition (LJDAM), Laser Small Diameter Bomb (LSBD), and Mortar Weapon Systems and technologies. Throughout his career he has partnered with various US DOD acquisition and research communities from Ft. Belvoir, Picatinny and Redstone Arsenals, Air Force Research Labs, DARPA and the Office of Naval Research. David holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and is a certified Program Management Professional.
