Mr. Thomas M. Mead

Thomas Mead serves as the Army Applications Laboratory’s Director of Solution Innovation, managing a team of 10 Program Managers who working closely with small businesses to deliver technological solutions that can be implemented by the US Army to drive future change. In his role, Mr. Mead fosters innovation, creates actionable plans, and facilitates long-term strategies that benefit both government problem owners and industry partners

Prior to AAL, Mr. Mead served 20 years as a senior non-commissioned officer in the US Army, with 7 years as an indirect fire infantryman (MOS 11C) and 13 years with Army Special Forces in multiple roles. He deployed in support of critical missions such as Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom, with several deployments in Central and South America. Throughout his military career, he was awarded numerous honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart.

Mr. Mead holds a BA in Business Administration from Methodist University and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in IT Infrastructure Security from American Military University. He is also a Certified Project Director and Program Manager Practitioner.
