Mary Brazier,

CURRENT ASSIGNMENT: As the Director for Partnerships Essential to Resilience and Mission Readiness (PERM) in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Policy, Mary Brazier focuses on ensuring global DoW mission resilience and a robust Defense Industrial Base (DIB), addressing critical minerals, supply chains, and energy resilience based on administration priorities and risk analysis. PERM achieves this by building strong partnerships with various stakeholders, including interagency, state, local, tribal, territorial entities, industry, and international partners, while supporting MA&DCI directorate partners in DCI prioritization and risk management. DIB resilience is managed through Policy's role as the DIB Sector Risk Management Agency.

PAST EXPERIENCE: Mary Brazier has over 20 years' experience in foreign and defense policy, providing advice to senior DoW leadership and representing the Department of War at home and abroad. Previous assignments include over 10 years focused on European/Eurasian/Russian security issues as well as serving as China/East Asia Country director, drafting DoW and USG strategy and plans; stability operations work related to Iraq and Afghanistan; serving on Capital Hill as a Brookings Legis Fellow, and multiple assignments focused on nation-state activities in the homeland, with emphasis on the PRC and Russia, including spearheading early DoW work on Surge Layer Defense, establishing the Critical Infrastructure Defense Analytic Center (CIDAC), and reforming the Mission Assurance Construct to account for nation state activities. Ms. Brazier has received numerous awards from OSW and other agencies, to include the Office of the Secretary of Defense Award for Exceptional Civilian Service.
