Additive Manufacturing SME/MAMLS Deputy Program Manager Air Force Research Laboratory, United States Air Force

Mr. Adam Hicks joined the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in 2018 as a program manager and Additive Manufacturing (AM) subject matter expert in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) Division. Adam is the government Deputy Program Manager for the Maturation of Advanced Manufacturing for Low-cost Sustainment (MAMLS) effort, and the technical point of contact on several recently awarded AM initiatives. Through these efforts, Adam is heavily involved with America Makes and other national institutes. Before joining AFRL, Adam worked for 9 years in AM research and development in both academia and industry. In addition to research on LPBF technologies, Adam also explored various applications for µs, ns, ps, and fs laser technologies. Mr. Hicks has his Masters in Physics from Miami University and a Bachelors in Physics from the University of Dayton.
