Ryan Vega

Executive Director VHA Innovation Ecosystem
Dr. Ryan Vega is currently the Executive Director of VHA Innovation Ecosystem, overseeing a national initiative aimed at identifying, diffusing and sustaining best practices across the enterprise. Prior to this role, he served as Chief of Quality for the Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC) and as the liaison for Institutional-House staff Quality and Safety Initiatives. In this role, Dr. Vega designed a model and the supporting infrastructure that fostered the spread and adoption of resident driven quality and safety initiates across the Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC) and the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health System. Dr. Vega received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in 2011 and completed his residency training in internal medicine at the VCU Health System in 2014. He went on to serve as Chief Medical Resident and as the VA Chief Resident for Quality and Safety at VCU from 2014 to 2015. He is a graduate of the Intermountain Advanced Training Program in Health Care Quality and Research and recently completed his Master of Science in Health Administration from VCU where he was an A.D. Williams Scholar.
