Joseph Draganac

Joseph J. Draganac was appointed Director of the Executive Cargo Division at U.S. Customs & Border Protection's (CBP) National Targeting Center (NTC) on October 20, 2024, and is a career member of the Senior Executive Service.

Joseph J. Draganac was appointed Director of the Executive Cargo Division at U.S. Customs & Border Protection's (CBP) National Targeting Center (NTC) on October 20, 2024, and is a career member of the Senior Executive Service.

Previously, Mr. Draganac served as the inaugural Director of CBP's Fentanyl Campaign Directorate (FCD). Under his leadership, the FCD unified CBP's efforts to combat fentanyl and other synthetic drugs by coordinating and leveraging agency wide capabilities, aligning with the 2023 CBP Strategy to Combat Fentanyl and Other Synthetic Drugs.

Mr. Draganac has also served as the Deputy Executive Director for CBP's Office of Field Operations, Operations Directorate. Mr. Draganac had oversight of 20 major field offices, 328 Ports of Entry (POE), and 16 Preclearance Stations in Canada, Ireland, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. He was responsible for reinforcing the frontline by supporting Field and Executive Leaders with critical information, guidance, and expertise.

Mr. Draganac started his career in 2000 as a Customs Inspector at the Port of Derby Line, Vermont and has held numerous leadership positions within CBP to include: Assistant Port Director for Trade in the Port of Buffalo, New York; and Deputy Director of the CBP Field Operations Academy (FOA) where he was responsible for delivery of basic training for CBP Officers and advance training programs for all CBP operational components.
