James LoBello

James LoBello is responsible for Aviation and Business Security in the Americas. Throughout his 29 years with Lufthansa Cargo, he has held various positions in Operations, Logistics and Project Management. Working under assignment, he has been a consultant for industry partners and the International Air Transportation Association. Dedicated solely within Security Management for the last 24 years, James LoBello has been leading the advancement of security for Lufthansa Cargo within all countries in the 'Americas' while supporting government and industry in the development of security standards and programs while promoting innovation in technology, training and application of smart security initiatives. His field of responsibility includes regulatory review, risk management, station compliance and investigations, as well as setting up security programs and measures in high-risk countries.

In addition to his Bachelors degree (BBA) in Airport/Aviation Management with emphasis in Economics and Management Information Systems, James LoBello received private and aerobatic flight training at the State University of New York at Farmingdale and at the University of North Dakota, Center for Aerospace Sciences. Furthermore, James LoBello has completed Fire Fighting and Rescue Training from the Nassau Country Fire Service Academy and Emergency Response Training from the National Transportation Safety Board. Previous work experience includes various management and operational roles in commercial aviation and in the fixed base operator business.

James LoBello is a member of the United States Chamber of Commerce National Security Task Force, ASAC Air Cargo Sub Committee, Chairman on the IATA Cargo Security Working Group, and further participation on multiple industry and governmental cargo security groups and advisory committees. James LoBello frequently participates in industry forums to promote the development of new Security and Risk Management standards in the air cargo industry. Mr. LoBello is responsible for developing and advancing Lufthansa Cargo security policy for executive strategy and customer communications and is a recurrent expert resource for industry media covering air cargo security.

James LoBello resides in New York; he is married and has two daughters and a son.
