Securing the Flow of Trade | Nelson Balido on the Future of Port Security

For more than a decade, Nelson Balido, Chairman of the Border Commerce and Security Council, has helped shape IDGA's Homeland Security Week, an annual gathering that brings together more than 600 leaders from the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, federal agencies, state and local law enforcement, critical infrastructure, and industry to examine the evolving homeland security landscape.

Ahead of the summit, IDGA spoke with Balido about why now is the right time to bring greater attention to the intersection of port security and trade facilitation, the threats and technologies shaping the port environment, and what he hopes attendees will take away from the event.
