Dr. Lawrence W. Anderson

Dr. Anderson currently serves as Associate Chief Information Officer at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), where he responsible for providing business solutions that support the millions of Federal Government employees and their beneficiaries.  He also serves as the Acting Chief Information Officer for Strategy and Policy where is responsible for IT strategy, investment management, budget, data management, and vendor management.  Most recently Dr. Anderson was recently appointed as OPM’s IT Transition Executive where he is responsible for managing and integrating OPM’s complex information technology systems with the Department of Defense and the General Services Administration. In his various executive leadership roles, he manages an IT budget over $300 million and overseas a geographically dispersed work force of approximately 450 employees and contractors.

Throughout an extensive leadership experience in overseeing large complex systems, Dr. Anderson has been focused strategic and transformational issues ranging from shared services, IT modernization, digital transformation, robotic process automation, and most recently, mergers and acquisitions. As an experienced executive, Dr. Anderson devotes much of his spare time to coaching and mentoring emerging leaders which lead to positive changes for individuals and their organizations.

Dr. Anderson is a 3^rd Degree Black Belt in Karate and specializes in teaching self-defense and specifically for women and children.  He is also a musician (electric bass) and musical director for his church and a few local bands playing music of various genres.

Dr. Anderson earned Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from the Catholic University of America, a Master of Science in Management Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland Graduate School of Management and Technology, and a Doctor of Management from the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies.  He is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute and a member of the United States Senior Executive Service.
