Wing Commander Rob Wilson

Head of Counter UAS UK Ministry of Defence

Wing Commander Wilson joined the Royal Air Force in 1994. He trained as a Force Protection specialist and serves in the RAF Regiment. Currently filling a role as the lead desk officer responsible for the coherence of Counter-small UAS for UK Defence in the Air Capability branch at Headquarters Air Command. Over his career he has delivered specialist Force Protection and Security functions including Internal Security, Special Weapons Security and Ground Based Air Defence. In this later area he has specialized further and is a Qualified Weapons Instructor in Surface to Air Weapons. As such he has had roles on operational units; instructed at all levels from tactical to operational; and run the RAF Ground Based Air Defence Operational Evaluation Unit. He is also a graduate of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Advanced Command and Staff Course.
