Chief (A) UAS Security Branch U.S. DHS - Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency

Mary Wiegand is the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Security Branch Chief in CISA's Infrastructure Security Division (ISD). In her role, she leads a team responsible for advancing CISA's UAS security initiatives, which include developing security guidance for critical infrastructure owners and operators, coordinating requests for temporary flight restrictions at special events, and contributing to interagency efforts aimed at enhancing the nation's UAS security posture.

Ms. Wiegand brings over 15 years of experience with the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to her current position, she managed contract teams within ISD that supported projects related to UAS, public gathering security, and executive secretariat functions. Before joining CISA in 2016, Mary served as a program analyst at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), where she supported project management activities for checkpoint screening technologies, coordinated aviation security policies, and implemented aviation security fee compliance actions.

Mary holds a master's degree in public administration from George Mason University, a bachelor's degree in political science from Averett University, and a Project Management Professional certification.
