Colonel Giorgio Cozzolino

Colonel Giorgio COZZOLINO was born in 1971 in Naples. He joined the Military Academy in 1991 and was commissioned in the Italian Army in 1993. At the end of the Junior Army Officers School in 1996, in the rank of Lieutenant, he was assigned in Sabaudia, to the Anti Artillery Aircraft School, serving as Section Commander. In 2000, he was promoted Captain and moved to the 17th Regiment Anti Artillery Aircraft always in Sabaudia, where he was appointed anti Artillery Aircraft Battery Commander.

Before attending the Italian Army Junior Staff Course in 2005, he served from 2002 to 2003 as 17th regiment anti artillery aircraft personnel office Chief. After the Junior Staff Course, he was reassigned to 17th Regiment Anti Artillery Aircraft as Logistic Office Chief.

In 2007, he was assigned to the Italian Army General Staff – Personnel branch.

In 2010 he attended the Joint Staff Course. Then, he was assigned to Organization Branch, where he contributed to studies and concepts aimed to reorganize the structure of Italian Army.

In 2013, he was appointed Commander of the 2nd Anti Artillery Aircraft Group of 17th Regiment Anti Artillery Aircraft.

In 2015 he was assigned to the Italian Army General Staff as section chief of Organization of Forces Office.

In 2019, promoted Colonel, was assigned to Center of Excellence Counter UAS as Director. He has a university degree in political science and a 2nd level Master in Strategic Sciences. Furthermore, he served abroad three times in the Balkans. Colonel Giorgio COZZOLINO speaks English and has 2 children, Luigi and Federico.
