Amit Mahajan

Amit Mahajan is a technology entrepreneur, inventor, and defense robotics innovator, and the founder of The Phoenix Group® ecosystem, which includes Bit Mapper Integration Technologies (bitmapper.com)—an ISO 9001:2015–certified embedded systems, defense-electronics, and robotics company. Under his leadership, Bit Mapper develops mission-critical systems spanning smart robotics, electro-optics, and advanced embedded platforms for defense and industrial applications.

In the field of defense robotics, Mr. Mahajan is closely associated with the conception and development of several novel robotic inspection and maintenance solutions. These include Bit Mapper's Automated Gun Barrel Cleaning & Inspection Robot (ABCR)—an AI-enabled robotic crawler designed for automated cleaning and inspection of large-caliber gun barrels—as well as the Laser Inspection Robot, a modular crawler platform that integrates high-resolution onboard imaging with laser-based metrology. This system generates detailed analytical barrel-health and dimensional reports and is applicable to 76 mm naval gun barrels and other hollow cylindrical structures such as IRL and torpedo tubes.

Mr. Mahajan is a named inventor on multiple U.S. intellectual property assets in defense robotics and inspection systems, including:

• ⁠U.S. Patent No. 11,940,237 (issued March 26, 2024): "Automated gun barrel cleaning system and method thereof" — covering the ABCR automated barrel-cleaning and inspection technology.
• ⁠U.S. Patent Application Publication No. US 2025/0327759 (published October 23, 2025): "Inspection and measurement system for straight hollow cylindrical objects" — describing 2D imaging and 3D laser-scan–based internal surface mapping and measurement, with applications to gun barrels and similar structures.

A U.S. citizen of Indian origin, Mr. Mahajan is formally trained as an electronics engineer. He holds eight granted U.S. patents, with several additional patents pending, reflecting his sustained focus on innovation at the intersection of robotics, embedded systems, AI, and defense technologies.
