Dr. Macam Dattathreya is a Chief Architect/Engineer within US Army with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer engineering. Dr. Dattathreya has over 30 years of combined private and public industry experience in various engineering disciplines. He is also an adjunct faculty at Wayne State university, Detroit where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate software and computer engineering related courses. Dr. Dattathreya also mentors several aspiring engineers in the field of software, model-based systems engineering, requirements engineering, and open-standard system architecture.

Dr. Dattathreya was a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), holds a Level III certification in systems engineering, and is an IBM certified Software Systems Architect. He is also a Certified Information System Security (CISSP) Professional.

Dr. Dattathreya has published several research papers in peer-reviewed technical journals and conferences and holds several US patents. His technical research spans into software and network architectures, cybersecurity, software reliability & complexity, model-based systems engineering, open-standard system architecture and energy saving strategies for large ground vehicle systems. Dr. Dattathreya, for his contributions to the industry as well as government, has received several technical achievement, invention and engineer and systems professional of the year awards.

As a matured engineer in the Army and the industry, for 30 years, Dr. Dattathreya has provided significant engineering support for major ground vehicle acquisition programs and industry engineering efforts in the areas of system software, hardware, cyber, openstandard system architecture, and network technologies and their integration onto the ground vehicle platforms.
