VA Healthcare

When VA decision makers and top performing industry partners meet at the 2022 VA Healthcare Summit in partnership with the Institute of Defense and Government Advancement (“IDGA”) on July 19-20, 2022 in Washington, DC (Hilton Mark Center, Alexandria, VA), focus will be on the urgent issues of Supply Chain/Electronic Health Record Modernization and the Veteran Experience.

Industry leaders will also be orienting their solutions toward the most recently stated strategies of the VA Secretary Denis McDonough’s, “Fiscal Years 2022-2028 Strategic Plan.”  “VA partners will assess how their solutions address, ‘Access.  Advocacy.  Outcomes.  Excellence.,’” stated Justin Ederheimer, Conference Producer, IDGA.

Access

Impacting care at every step of the care continuum promotes better Access to care.  In recent years, IDGA summits have highlighted preventative care as a means to reduce hospital admissions.  In 2021, Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) solutions were presented that accelerate diagnosis and admission, leading to faster treatment and fuller recovery.  Multiple other solutions have been featured throughout the years of conferences that inform and engage the Veteran and family in their care plans.  Telehealth has also been emphasized as a means to manage the care outside the walls of the medical center.  All of these efforts support better access to care.

Advocacy

Advocacy for the Veteran is key.  IDGA summits have highlighted the VA’s work to advocate for the Veteran as they prepare to leave active duty, transition to civilian live, and take advantage of the care and benefits availed to them through the Veterans Health Administration.  In some cases, Veterans themselves take on the role of advocacy for their fellow Veterans.

Outcomes

At VA Healthcare Summits, services are reviewed that improve clinical and quality metrics as well as increase Veteran/family and staff engagement toward producing desired care Outcomes.

Communication, knowledge, understanding and engagement are each critical in delivering positive outcomes-based care.

Excellence

Following President Lincoln’s original vision to create a health care system that cares for those who, “have borne the battle” and President Biden’s reminder of our, “sacred obligation,” together, we strive for excellence in care in every step along the journey to well-being.  VA leadership is committed to the selection and governance of solutions that foster Excellence.

The 2022 VA Healthcare Summit is July 19-20, 2022 in Washington, DC.   Join in the conversation and mission to execute the long-term strategies of Access.  Advocacy.  Outcomes. and Excellence.
