IDGA PRESENTS MARITIME SECURITY AWARD AT SUNY MARITIME COLLEGE

Throggs Neck, Bronx NY - May 6, 2010 - Keith Johnson, General Manager of the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) presented the "IDGA Maritime Security Award" to State University of New York Maritime College Senior John Lubitz. The award was presented to Mr. Lubitz for attaining the highest cumulative GPA in the Maritime Security Discipline. IDGA also presented a check for $200 along with the award for the achievement. Following graduation Mr. Lubitz intends to sail on a Merchant Marine vessel as a 3rd Mate.

The award was presented at Van Clute Hall on SUNY Maritime College’s campus at the 2010 Senior Awards Ceremony which took place on Thursday, May 6th. SUNY Maritime College, founded in 1874 is the oldest institution of its kind in the United States.

It provides its students an education in commercial nautical instruction and all degree programs may be combined with preparation for the professional license as a United States Merchant Marine Officer. Further, the College offers a master's degree in International Transportation Management, and several graduate certificate programs.
