New York, NY – March 23, 2012 – As our nation faces threatsfrom radical extremism in a period of persistent conflict, coordinating maritime security integration, improving technologies for maritime surveillance and defining the latest USCG priorities have become the center of attention in the Maritime Homeland Security Industry. The Atlantic Area Command Priorities and Operational Updates and the US Coast Guard’s leadership vision and urgencies are just two main topics currently being addressed to strengthen our Maritime Homeland Security.

In anticipation of a threat and keeping up with these matters of the Maritime Community, IDGA’S 10TH Annual Maritime Homeland Security Summitwill bring together all relevant stakeholders and professionals from the Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, Port Security and industry partners to exchange and share best practices and explore potential paths to fortifying the United States’ maritime security.

IDGA is especially honored to announce the summit’s distinguished Keynote speakers. RADM Kevin S. Cook, U.S Coast Guard, Deputy Commander, Atlantic Area will deliver the awaited briefing on the Future Capabilities of the Coast Guard and new initiatives for 2012. Deputy CAO & Director of Acquisition Services, Michael Tangora, USCG will cover bases on the USCG acquisition priorities. Moreover,RADM Charles Michel, USCG, Commander of the Joint Interagency Task Force South will be discussing JIATFS support to regional stability and national security and the West Hem National Security Threat: TOC.

Additionally, the summit offers a private Norfolk Port Tour that will enable participants to see the innovative operations and security at the Port of Norfolk. This tour will be focusing on the Norfolk International Terminals. Furthermore, other keynote speakers include CAPT Mark P. O’Malley, Commander, Sector of Baltimore, USCG and CAPT Eric J. Trehubenko, Branch Head, OPNAV N2/N6E3 – MDA Office of the DoD Executive Agent for Maritime Domain Awareness.
