Illegal immigrants held in detention centers across the U.S. are being released to save money ahead of the looming mandatory budget cuts. Gillian Christensen, spokeswoman for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement service, said on Tuesday that immigrants have been "placed on an appropriate, more cost-effective form of supervised release."
