LCDR Pamela Herbig, NC, USN discusses compassion fatigue from caregivers after nearly a decade of war at IDGA's Battlefield Healthcare Summit. She mentions that after years of war in both Iraq and Afghanistan that healthcare providers are seeing multiple traumatic events and it is causing a desensitization that could be impacting care to wounded warriors. She also details solutions in theater that can ensure that caregivers can use to ensure that warfighers are getting the best treatment possible.
