Lori Smith Lori Smith joined the VA in June 2013 as the Chief, Procurement Services Division A4. She was promoted as the Director of Procurement Services A in September 2017. She was hand-selected as the CO for Region 4 Community Care Network in April 2018. Harnessing a level of competence unmatched by peers, her tenacity, business acumen and professionalism under fire was pivotal in her selection as the Contracting Officer of choice for the entire Community Care Network $100B portfolio, consisting of five regions. Mrs. Smith provides leadership, policy, oversight, support and professional workforce development for a contracting workforce of approximately 24 individuals. Lori retired from the U. S. Air Force in 2008 with 23 years of experience in contracting and logistics. Her diverse contracting experience includes major construction, commodities, maintenance, and healthcare services. Prior to joining the VA, Lori was with the North Regional Contracting Office and served as the Contracting Officer for the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. Lori is currently pursuing her doctoral in Business Administration from Northcentral University, holds master’s degrees in Education and Business Administration, from the University of Oklahoma and Phoenix University respectively, and a bachelor’s degree in Resource Management from Troy University. She holds a Level III DAWIA/FAC Certificate in Contracting and is a proud mother of a son (John), recently adopted daughter (Alexis), and a loving wife (Denroy). She enjoys volunteering, serving others, and reading in her spare time.
