Mr. Roberto I. Guerrero is a member of the Senior Executive Service and is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy. Mr. Guerrero directs the Department of the Air Force's operational energy programs, plans, and policies to enhance combat capability and mitigate operational risk to the warfighter through energy-informed solutions, advanced technologies, and improved processes. Mr. Guerrero earned an Aeronautical Engineering degree from California Poly State University and was subsequently commissioned an officer in the United States Navy. After 12 years as a Naval Aviator, Mr. Guerrero did an inter-service transfer to the Air Force and served as an E-3 AWACS pilot and Squadron Commander. He was a Command Pilot with over four thousand flight hours and 24 combat missions and retired as a Colonel in 2010. Upon his transfer to the civil service, Mr. Guerrero served as the Executive Director of the Air Force Safety Center and then Director of Staff at the Air Force Reserve Command Headquarters
