Major Jared Whitaker

Major Jared Whitaker currently serves as the Technical Integration and Assessment Lead for Project Flytrap and is the V Corps Deputy Director for Space and Special Technical Operations. He has participated in every iteration of Project Flytrap.

A former engineer officer, Major Whitaker has been a Space Operations Officer since 2024 after completing the U.S. Army Space Operations Officer Qualification Course (SOOQC) and the Space Control Planner Course.

As an engineer officer, MAJ Whitaker served as a platoon leader, company executive officer; and battalion maintenance officer in Fort Wainwright, Alaska; real estate officer in South Korea; company commander with 36th Engineer Brigade in Fort Hood, Texas; and combat engineer advisor in Afghanistan and Jordan.

Major Whitaker has a BS in mechanical engineering technology from Old Dominion University.
