MAJ Eric C. Scholl was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Business Management and Minor in Economics. He was commissioned in October 2010 as an Aviation Officer through Officer Candidate School where he graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate.
Upon completion of Flight School, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault where he served as a Platoon Leader for 7th Squadron 17th Cavalry Regiment and earned the distinction of Pilot in Command for the OH-58D helicopter. After the deactivation of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade he was re-assigned to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade where he served as an Assistant S3.
After his staff time, MAJ Scholl commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron 17th Cavalry Regiment for a duration of two years. During that time, he developed three Unmanned Aerial System Shadow Platoons and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
In 2018, MAJ Scholl transitioned into the Acquisition Corps where he served as the Assistant Product Manager (APM) for Aviation Airborne Expendable Countermeasures and the Selectable Lightweight Attack Munition within Program Manager - Close Combat Systems, Joint Program Executive Office - Armaments and Ammunition at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.
Upon completion of his Key Development time as an APM, he attended the Naval Postgraduate School. There he completed Joint Professional Military Education, published his capstone on the Tradeoff Analysis of Backup Power Generation Solutions for Military Bases and earned his Master of Science in Systems Engineering Management.
After NPS, MAJ Scholl was assigned to the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Southeast where he served as a Support Program Integrator on the Precision Strike Missile program, Quality Assurance Supervisor for two teams, and Lead Platform Integrator for the Warfighter Protective Equipment High Visibility Commodity.
MAJ Scholl is currently assigned to DCMA Unmanned Systems Experimental (US-X) where he is serving as the Blue List program manager providing an approved list of compliant UAS systems and components.
His education includes the Intermediate Qualification Course, Intermediate Level Education, Army Acquisition Professionals Course, the Air Assault Course, Initial Entry Rotary Wing OH-58D (R) Track, the Aviation Captains Career Course, Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE-C), and Aviation Officers Basic Course.
His awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), the National Defense Service Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Medal, the Overseas Service Medal, the Aviators Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
He is married to his college sweetheart, Laura, and they have two children: Bode (9) & Lilly (7).
