Lieutenant Colonel Steve Briones is the Commander of Detachment 24, Joint Base San Antonio, Randolph, Texas. Detachment 24 Pilot Training Next is the nexus of flight training innovation within Air Education and Training Command. The Sabers are turning the page as trailblazers in the aerospace and defense industry backed by proven advances in immersive technology as a pathway to revolutionize aircrew learning. Lt Col Briones is a 2005 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. His flying tours include the RC-135, KC-135 and T-38 in addition to multiple combat tours in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM SENTINEL, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and JUNIPER MICRON. Previously, Lt Col Briones served as Director of Innovation for Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training, 80th Flying Training Wing, Sheppard AFB, TX. Most recently, he served as Division Chief of Technology and Innovation, 19th Air Force, Air Education & Training Command.
