Brad Barnard

Vice President and General Manager Saab

Brad Barnard is Vice President and General Manager of Saab, Inc.’s Land System Division. In this role he is responsible for leading a portfolio of capabilities that includes Training and Simulation, the AT4 and Carl-Gustaf weapon systems, and the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB).

In his previous role Barnard served as Executive Director for the Precision Fires & Maneuver (PF&M) program area at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD), where he led a family of programs that included the TOW and Javelin weapon systems, as well as the Excalibur 155mm precision projectile. He also oversaw the strategic capture efforts for the US Army's Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) program and Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) programs.

Prior to this appointment, Barnard served as senior director of the Area Defense Systems (ADS) portfolio, where he managed RMD's strategic relationship with Rafael (Israel), as well as Land Warfare Systems (LWS) strategic growth director.

Barnard joined Raytheon in 2008 and served as the corporate field office manager for the combat vehicle customer community at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI. Before joining Raytheon, he was senior manager for Advanced Programs at General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) in Sterling Heights, MI. In this role he led advanced combat vehicle projects and held roles in operations research, systems engineering, program management and business development.

Barnard holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in national security studies from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
